As well as the formal “links” with our partner schools Polesworth is also involved in a three year Comenius project entitled “European Voices”.  This is a collaborative project between the MFL and Music Departments and involves co-operation between schools in Poland, Spain and Germany.  The project looks at traditions and music and has successfully raised the profile of music within all the schools involved.  Pupils are involved in this project regardless of age or ability.  Pupils are also encouraged to accompany teachers on project visits, attend the school and participate fully in the lives of their host families.

Pupils attending the project meeting in Poland were so keen to tell everyone about their experiences that “Big Mag”, the school’s ezine looking at internationalism, was created.
Published every half term and managed by a member of staff, the pupils are in charge of running and producing the magazine.  Initially aimed at liaising between the partner schools within the Comenius project, it was designed to explore the different cultures and traditions of the co-operating partners.  It has now developed and reports on all of the school’s international activities and includes recipes and interviews with different “players” within the school’s international network.
