Welcome To GCSE Leisure and Tourism
Leisure and Tourism is a part of everyone’s life. It is a vocational subject,
that brings real life situations into classroom. There is some theory, but the
majority of this will be related to student’s own experiences. They will gain a
greater understanding of this vast growth market.
Students will be positively encouraged to build portfolios at their own pace.
The GCSE allows for all abilities, students will be encouraged to develop work
at a reasonable pace, with AA* students showing high level organizational,
analysis and evaluation skills.
Students will use outings, work experience, the internet, photographic
evidence, brochures, tickets etc, to help build their portfolios.
The course consists of three equally weighted parts:
Leisure & Tourism,
(the theory bit! - exam end of year ten)
Marketing
(Project on Alton Towers and Drayton Manor)
Customer Service
Project and role play based on work experiences)
