Important Changes to Child Fare Travel on Arriva Midlands Buses in Tamworth.

From 1st January 2007, all 11-16 year olds will need an Arriva Midlands Citizen Card when travelling on Arriva buses in Tamworth and surrounding boundary area (weekdays, evenings and at the weekend, in order to receive child fare travel. Without the Citizen Card, full fare will apply.

The benefits of having a Citizen Card when travelling with Arriva Midlands are:-

• Guarantee child discounted fare travel on buses within Tamworth and surrounding area.

• Citizen Cards expire on 31st August of the year the student turns 16.

• The card is available free of charge to all full time students.

• With widespread recognition of the scheme many businesses and retailers are now asking to see the Card as a reliable means of Verifying a young person’s age.

It will enable students to obtain various discounts and concessions to which they are entitled.

All students in Years 7-11 have had the opportunity to obtain a Citizen Card via the scheme.
