25/05/07 Study Centre
It's been a very busy term in the Study Centre. Alongside our normal schedule of lessons, there have been various reading activities, quizzes and events.

A group of Year 7 and 8 students took part in the Warwickshire Secondary Schools Book Award which involved them reading a short list of books and voting for their favourite.

The group attended an award ceremony at Warwick School and had the opportunity to meet two of the authors. The overall winner of this award was Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan.

In March we celebrated World Book Day by holding a Book Fayre. All students were issued with a £1.00 book token to spend on a book of their choice. Once again, this was a very successful event, with book sales of over £500, 30% of which went towards purchasing new titles for the Study Centre. We also held a competition to tie in with World Book Day and the winners were Sophie Oldfield 7EAT, Clair Shepherd 8WHI and Claire Stableford 8JNS.

Left are the winners of our Chinese New Year competition, Faye Kester 8JNS and Alex Wayne 8HIL, who were presented with a book about Chinese Myths.
