Our Under15 girl’s football team have had an outstanding season, reaching the last 16 in the ESFA National School Cup competition. Their journey began back in October 2007 along with 1,023 other teams from all over England.

After being successful in the first four rounds, the girls had reached the last 64. In round five, the girls convincingly beat St John Fisher School 3-0 with goals from Hannah Smith and Sarah Tidmus (2), which put us into the last 32. In the next round the girls played against Cheslyn Hay which again they won 3-1, with goals from Sarah Tidmus (3). Round Seven meant they had reached the last 16 of the Cup competition. They knew it would be a tough game and we had drawn a home fixture against Thomas Telford School. The girls with many supporters behind them never gave up for the full 90 minutes but were unfortunately beaten 2-6. (Goals from Jo Houghton and Sarah Tidmus).

This is a fantastic achievement by all students involved. Well Done.
